Mr Gaballa received Master degree in Intelligence and Security, Master degree in Security Science, and several courses in Applied Intelligence. Currently he is working on a multidisciplinary PhD that tackles the causes of error in intelligence analysis and validation of the effectiveness of different analytical techniques in safeguarding against these errors. He received several grants (175.000 GBP) from governmental and nongovernmental bodies in UK and elsewhere. His latest research paper is forthcoming in NATO publication. Prior to joining UCL, he has been conducting security and political assessments for UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and other organisations. He has been a regular participant – for 8 years – to international security meetings sponsored by US Department of Defence. During his academic and professional experience, Mr Gaballa has developed diverse experience in the use of e-learning techniques and simulations. His research on analytical techniques does not only cover intuitive, structured and quantitative techniques developed for intelligence community, but also extends to concepts and methods from systems engineering, judicial reasoning, and cognitive & experimental psychology.
